What personal data we collect when you visit the site or buy the course, and what we do with it — in plain language.

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Medelian Martial Arts Academy ("we", "us", "our") runs medelianacademy.com ("the Site"). This page explains what personal data we collect when you visit the Site or buy the Course, and what we do with it, in line with the GDPR. We've kept it plain rather than legalistic.

1. What we collect

The only personal data we collect and keep is your name and email address, which you give when you create your account (through Ghost, our website and membership platform). We don't collect anything else about you ourselves.

To take payment and send you account emails, we rely on a couple of service providers who handle limited data to do their job (see Section 3). In short:

  • Payment: Stripe processes your payment and collects your card details directly — we never see or store your card number. We only receive basic transaction details (the amount, date, and a payment reference).
  • Email: our account and purchase emails (like receipts) are sent through Mailgun, which handles your email address to deliver them. We don't store anything extra ourselves.

Cookies: the Site uses only the essential cookies needed to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party analytics, or advertising or tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we'll update this page first.

2. How we use your data

  • To give you access to the Course you bought.
  • To send you essential emails about your purchase or account (a receipt, or a note about a change to these policies).
  • To answer support messages you send to wdpimedelian@gmail.com.

We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers ("processors"). Each one handles your data only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy terms:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Mailgun — sending account and purchase emails.

We don't share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

4. Your rights

If you're in the EU, the UK, or another place with similar data-protection law, you can:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you (access);
  • ask us to correct anything inaccurate;
  • ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), except where we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons;
  • ask for a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • object to certain uses of your data.

To do any of these, email wdpimedelian@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep account and purchase data for as long as you have an account, and after that only as long as we need it for legal, tax, or accounting reasons.
